Haunted Mansion Movie Remake Guillermo Del Toro – Guillermo Del Toro has dished the gossip on his intentions to write, produce, and possibly direct a remake of the Haunted Mansion. He claims to be a lifelong fan of the Disneyland ride, and also says that it is not just a ride, rather a way of life. Del Toro says that he has been collecting memorabilia and artifacts from the ride for years, and began collecting the items long before deciding to create a remake of the Haunted Mansion movie. The revelations were announced at the Comic-Con convention in San Diego on Thursday during the Disney panel.
There were jokes between the interviewer from MTV that Del Toro could use the artifacts that he has collected over the years as props for his movie, to which Del Toro responded that he would be using the budget for the movie to add to the room he already has. Del Toro stated at the Comic-Con event that the main ghost in the film remake would be the Hat Box Ghost.
The Hat Box Ghost was taken out of the actual ride because it was believed to be too scary, but there is even a cult following for the Hat Box Ghost. Del Toro plans to keep fans of the ride and the movie in suspense as he did not fully elaborate on the plot. However, it certainly sounds like it’s going to be an amazing film and many people are eagerly awaiting the day that it is released.
