The American Tops Labor Day Box Office – Machete cut through all competition on Friday by topping the box office charts. The new movie starring Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan only just beat The American to the top spot. The American raked in a staggering three point eight million dollars, whilst Machete managed to get three point nine million dollars. The movie has had a lot of hype surrounding the release with some very famous faces gracing the screen. However, as mentioned above, it only just scraped the top spot and beat The American. The story of the movie is a very interesting one.

It starts of by telling the story which revolves around an immigrant. The lead character, Machete, is seen in a confrontation with a drug lord, and he then proceeds to roam around Texas yards in order to do work in exchange for money. The next part of the movie sees Machete being offered a huge sum of money to kill corrupt Senator McLaughlin, who is sending hundreds of illegal immigrants out of the country. Robert De Niro plays the bad guy in this movie, Senator McLaughlin, a role which definitely suits him.
